Personalised Support: How Piece of Pi Helps Students Master Maths

For many students, Maths can feel overwhelming. From tricky algebra problems to time pressure in exams, it’s easy to lose confidence and fall behind. That’s where Piece of Pi comes in. Based in Navan and Killester, we’re on a mission to make Maths clear, simple, and achievable for every student — no matter their starting point.

This year, we’re taking our support to the next level by introducing a Student Support Mentor — a role designed to give our students even more personalised guidance and insider tips on how to succeed.

Why Personalised Support Matters

Every student learns differently. Some pick up concepts quickly but need help applying them in exam situations. Others need step-by-step explanations to really understand the “why”. In a busy classroom, it can be difficult to give every student the one-on-one attention they need at all times.

At Piece of Pi, we close that gap. Our personalised approach allows us to:

Identify weaknesses early and create targeted plans.
Offer custom-made resources that suit each student’s learning style.
Build confidence by breaking down tough topics into simple, manageable steps.
Help students master exam technique — not just the content.

And now, with the addition of our new Student Support Mentor, students have access to an extra layer of guidance.

Meet Eimear — Our H1 Maths Mentor

We’re over the moon to welcome Eimear, a recent Leaving Cert student who achieved a H1 in Higher Level Maths. Having been through the exact same exams our students are preparing for, she knows what it takes to perform at the highest level.

Her role? To be available exclusively to Piece of Pi students — providing:

Personalised video explanations for tricky problems.
Step-by-step breakdowns of past paper questions.
Tips, strategies, and insights on how she achieved a H1.
Study hacks and time-management techniques to maximise marks.

This kind of student-to-student support creates a unique advantage. Our students don’t just learn from teachers — they learn from someone who’s been in their shoes and succeeded.

How It Works

When a student is stuck on a question regardless of whether it's from grind class or school homework, they can send it directly to Eimear who will then create a personalised video explanation showing exactly how to solve it, breaking the process into clear, simple steps.

This means no more waiting until next week’s class to get help — students get on-demand support when they need it most.
